Pandit Vedang Dharashive’s musical journey started by listening to the humming of devotional song sung by his mother in his childhood. This was the time when he fell in love with music. With the help of his maternal uncle, he started his formal training at his home and since then the process of gaining knowledge of music started.
He is trained under the guidance of Pt. Pandharinath Potdar guruji, Pt. Shantaram Chigri guruji, pt. Maruti Kurdikar ji & pt. He had also spent nearly 3 years in Varanasi and learned classical vocal in depth. Then he came back to Goa and took admission in Kala Academy a very old & recognized institute for music and spent nearly 7 years in gaining his degree in music.
He was offered a job in the same institute and worked there for 10 years. But his soil where he has lived for 30years was waiting for him, so he left from USA and came back to Maharashtra to spread the knowledge of music in people around him. A journey of 40 years in to music & now he is spreading the essence of classical singing in the rural area in the state Maharashtra where he was born and brought up just to promote classical music.

He says experiencing the highest level of consciousness, through the waves of ultimate frequencies of sound (Vedic Music), which is fully awake within itself, the field of all possibilities, that infinite unbounded silence, unified field of total bliss, the glory of transcendental consciousness The supreme Sound (Nad Brahma). It is fortunate for the world that the vedic musicians of the generation have preserved the beautiful science and art of creating balance in nature through music. Vedic music is a precious discipline of vedic science, the complete science of life. It sends forth those powerful melodies and rhythms of nature to purify the atmosphere, there by neutralizing the stress in the environment and promoting the orderly evolution of life.
Indian classical music is the music of ancient civilization, which enjoyed heaven on earth. It is music that in alliance with natural law. It up holds the natural rhythms that prevail at different times throughout the day and night. The frequencies, melody and rhythm to restore balance and harmony in the mind, body, behaviour and environment. It is an eternal music of nature. Music is coherent frequencies some different, some the same, many values of frequency and coherence in sound makes a melody.
To neutralize the stress there has been knowledge in India, vedic knowledge from vedic times. This is science of knower, knowing and known. It is the science of subjectivity, objectivity and the relationship between subject and object. It is very fortunate that the Vedic Pandits have been preserving all of that enormously useful science and art of creating harmony in a situation of disharmony and discordance in the world consciousness.
He has planned to take these precious melodies to each and every creature of this planet, to propagate this enormous Indian Vedic wisdom to enjoy heaven on earth. He is expressing his thoughts about music which came to his mind from years of practice.
He start his day with practicing music (voice) which is like practicing Yoga for him, since it is based on breathing it gives more oxygen to the body means more life to live. For him music helps to meditate through sound to realize that supreme power. He quotes ‘Music is the best friend of mine which would accompany me to the last breath of life.’ Music forces him to live meaningful life which goes through music to the self realisation. He feels he get less stress and release from anxiety when he practices music as for him music is a Saviour of his survival.
From years of practice he has come to conclusion that music is Ocean of seven notes and to understand one note, one life time is too short. Phenomenon, luminary, powerful, everlasting musical tones keep on vibrating around us till the existence of this planet. Music has that insight which guides him in the journey of life. Seven notes of music are extended family members of his family. Practicing Music is purpose and goal of his life. He also feels that music is the reason of his existence; it gives him joy, support, satisfaction and meaning to his life. Music leads him to experience the highest level of consciousness which is God consciousness.
