Based on breathing exercise Pranayam(naad yoga) .Breathing which inhales and excels for longer gives more oxygen to the body.Alap is the soul of the Raga. It shows the caliber of the musician. His capacity of intellection, mind’s eye, how far he could think of the boundaries of the thought with creative combination of melodic notes set to the rhythem.It takes years of practice to get command on the scale to perform freely. Every days practice brings the different shades to the raga, fulfillment of intense happiness, ecstasy, exaltation, euphoria the total bliss.Experience of supreme sound the Naad Brahma. About me- Performing vocals for last many years around the globe. Taught music in USA for ten years including one of the prestigious universities(MUM) at Fairfield Iowa. Pt. Ajoy Chakrabarty is one of the most talented and versatile singer of India. He is very good in semi classical as well.I remember one incident,he had come to perform in Goa Kala Academy in the Sangeet Sammelan.I was working for music dept. of Kala Academy.While taking them to the airport I was with them in the car.He started singing some light music it was sounding very soothing.I would never forget that moment. I had many opportunities to listen to him at different cities.Always great time I had and enjoyed his music very much. Ajoy ji is now regarded as an exponant of Patiyala Gharana.

    Vedang, to some Boise is a big city. I was born in Twin Falls Idaho and now live in Helix, Oregon, a town of less than 200 people. I wish you get out, get on a bike and ride the trail out of town in Boise. I used to do that with my friend. Boise has excellent bike riding trail paved all the way out towards Idaho City. Have you been to Idaho City. Now it is a small town. Beautiful old cemetary there and a great place to relax with a hot springs swimming pool. Get out of that room.

    Ustad Amir Khan.

     

    One of the most un-celebrated legends of Hindustani classical music.The only great voice of the century.Musician of the musicians.

    Ustad Amir Khan (1912-1974) was among the greatest and most influential Hindustani vocalists of  all times.His music use to express the emotions to the highest level,impossible to put it in the words. I am listening to his music all my life.Never been to bed without his music.The great meditative quality of  his music use to transendent mind. Musician tell the story of joy and grief; of laughter and tears. Music must please and move." This is an apt description of Ustad Amir Khan's music. Amir Khansahib had an intellectual's approach to Hindustani music while always managing to bring out, with great sensitivity, all the emotive aspects of a raag. Listen his music.

    Lata Mangeshkar, Gana Kokila,Swar Samradni, the music legend who continues to entertain millions with her golden voice turned 82 few days back.Despite mesmerising generations through her sweet voice in a career of over seven decades, still continues to do so and it would never end in the history of mankind the voice will be always heard..Listen to her classical delicate melodious malkauns as well.You would realise her talent.It is very rare recording.I have ever witnessed the best of raga Malkauns by any singers so far.I am sure you guys will enjoy it.
